Thanks to the natural conditions of Scotland the outdoor activities are very popular. Here you can enjoy various kind of sports beginning with skiing and finishing with hot air ballooning. Rugby is very popular all over Great Britain, but in Scotland only the amateur game (Rugby Union) is played, professional Rugby takes place exclusively in central England.

Golf was invented in Scotland in 15th century and till nowadays remains one of the most favorite game in the country. But all the same Soccer is Scotland's national sport. Most cities and towns have a professional team; on the other hand there are many amateurs, who play football just for fun.
